We had a very comfortable stay. The rooms (including the bathrooms) were spacious and clean. The AC made the sultry climate a non issue. The breakfast also had selection of South Indian food. A special mention had to made of the friendly front desk team (Partha) who went extra mile to make our stay comfortable.Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly service

The staff were extremely courteous and always eager to help. They seemed genuinely welcoming and warm. They were always available for all sort of assistance and support. I came in along with my elderly parents for a little getaway and I'm glad that I chose to stay in the Grand Hotel D'Europe. From the minute I tried to book and called the hotel to arriving, staying and departing, the service provided by the staff there was impeccable. I was in contact with Shanu and Partho to begin with and they helped me through and through while setting up the booking and answered all my questions. They reassured me that they'd be there to help out in every way possible and they did. Very rarely do you leave a hotel feeling you're leaving friends behind, and this is exactly how we felt when we left Pondicherry. The staff in the kitchen were incredibly kind and helpful as well. Debi, Mita and Rosyln were on their toes trying to ensure that we got the food with our particular dietary requirements. Just like family would, the staff members would come around and check in with my parents and listen to our days' happenings and also make recommendations as required. We had an absolute blast staying at the oldest hotel in Pondicherry and we cherish the experience of being part of such a beautiful historic space. My personal gratitude to Shanu, Partho, Debi, Mita and Rosyln. You guys are absolute legends and we look forward to being back soon in the near future.Staff hospitality, cleanliness, closeness to sites, part of heritage/history

An excellent stay. This is a lovely property with a charming set of staff to assist you . The hotel has very spacious rooms, making them apt for kids to run around and enjoy the space. Bakery items were not upto the mark at all. Would not recommend ordering any croissants and cinnamon rolls as they were not fresh and warm.

The rooms are big,clean and spacious and have French architecture with high ceiling and big windows. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The staff at the reception and restaurant are very attentive and courteous. They have very nice swimming pool as well which is well maintained. The place is stone's throw away from beach. They have a dedicated parking 2 minutes walks away from the hotel. The breakfast buffet though limited but was excellent in quality which was a mix of north Indian, south Indian and French cuisine . It gets very crowded from Friday evening till Sunday noon. Internet sometimes get a bit patchy here. They also have a rooftop restaurant and a bar which I did not try. This is a heritage hotel and the attention to detail and cleanliness is remarkable. Breakfast is a set course and is basically same every day with some minor changes. This can be improved a little. However the taste was great. Roof top restaurant is nice a quite. Food service speed can be improved a little bit. Staff is friendly. Overall a great experience and worth the stay.- Location - Decor

They were kind enough to upgrade our room on the second day, making our stay even better.
